You are now in week 4 of pregnancy. You may have a confirmation from home pregnancy test that you are pregnant. The new life in your body continues to grow and develops some organs.

MOM

You will begin to feel the rapid changes occurring inside your body, particularly in uterus. At this stage, a urine pregnancy test that measures the level of pregnancy hormones called hCG will confirm the pregnancy.

4 Weeks Pregnant

By this stage, you will begin to experience some pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, mood swings, breast tenderness, and need for frequent urination. These all are just normal symptoms and you need not to panic if you experience them. We have emphasized the importance of first trimester every now and then because all the major development of your baby occurs in this particular trimester. So, it is extremely important to keep yourself away from bad habits, eat healthy and stay relaxed. Regular exercise will bring good results for sure. Eat the food rich in necessary nutrients, especially iron and Folic Acid.

BABY

The chorionic villi will completely formed by this week. The chorionic villi are actually the sprout from the chorion, i.e. a kind of membrane that lies between the foetus and the mother. This is not the part of placenta which is a very important organ supplying the necessary ingredients from the mother to the baby. A gestational sac is present inside that feed your baby until the placenta becomes fully matured.

DAD

Unlike women, men are emotionally less involved, perhaps they are not experiencing what women do. What you need to do here is to visit any local pharmacy and bring a couple of pregnancy tests.

The growth of baby is now in progress and her organs are developing quickly. By the next week, the heart of your baby will start beating.

Tip of the Week

Making a pregnancy journal would be a good idea where you can jot down all your experiences throughout the 40 weeks. This will certainly become handy for your GYN/OB if at any stage any complication arises.
