The week 10 of pregnancy is here. Both you and your baby are experiencing major changes in your bodies. The growth of your baby is quick and she is growing in size with each passing day. Let us see what is going to happen in week 10 of pregnancy.
MOM
Morning sickness is still with you alongside nausea and fatigue. However, this stage is going to end so you may get some relief from all these symptoms. Your abdomen will now grow in size and this is because of the swelling in your intestines and not due to the increase in the size of the uterus as most of the women think. As your baby is growing inside the uterus, your waistline seems to disappear gradually.
BABY
Your baby has now gained the weight of about 4 grams and measures around 35 mm. Eyelids of your baby are fused close and will remain closed till the week 26. Lips, toes, and ears of your baby are now completely developed. The external genitals of your baby are developing. The tail was found the initial few weeks is now gone completely.
DAD
Being a dad, you are not much involved in the pregnancy as you have not to experience what your partner does. Your role here is to take care of your partner and all her needs. Setting an appointment with the healthcare physicians and accompany here during her visits would be a great way to get involved. This will not only help you understand the progress of the pregnancy but also help you witness the growth of your baby. This will also help you know about the condition of your partner and the healthcare physician may suggest you few things which you need to take care of during the pregnancy period of your partner.
What you have witness in this week is the growth of your baby and some physical changes in your abdomen as it grew in size.
Tip of the Week
It is advised to handle cat litter trays and raw meat with extreme care as they may contain toxoplasmosis – a parasite that can cause birth defects. Always wash your hands properly.
